Fake "palmtrees" at the Tullu Demtu (4377 m), the 2nd highest mountain in Ethiopia. It started snowing...and I worn short trousers...cool!

A tiny river near Dinsho in the Bale Mountain National Park. The area is volcanic plateau of tertiary basalts, with a breathtaking landscape.

The rim of the caldera "Kone" near Metehara between Nazret and Awash. The diameter of the volcano is about 10 to 12 km.

Men@work. Geologists researching teconical structures in a tertiary ignimbrite. Students around are obviously perplexed.
